The problem with most training – either with those who train themselves or those who use a personal trainer, is that not all your training parameters that develop your physique are measured! This means that you can easily (but inadvertently) “cheat” the movements and thereby cheat yourself!

Get the most from each of your workouts. Don’t miss you peak potential or waste time getting and effort getting to your ultimate condition.

If you don’t measure, you don’t really know

Muscles grow or improve in condition when their Work Capacity increases provided also that the stress is maintained or increased!

How can you measure that? How do you know you are really progressing when you get those extra reps – what if you “robbed” your muscle of the stress element and the total muscle stimulus was LESS – i.e. you actually went backwards?**

**Here’s a simple example of how that is possible:

  • Bob is trying to progress in bench press to build his pecs
  • He’s previously done 3 sets of 10 reps at 60 (3x10x60)
  • Today he managed 12, 11, 11
  • Has he progressed? – Most would say “Yes” – but wait:-
    • The 3 sets of 10 were done with reps of 2.5 secs and all 3 sets were completed in 3 minutes (roughly 52 secs between sets)
    • Todays effort was done with reps of 2 secs and all 3 sets took 6 minutes to complete!
  • This means that:
    • the 3x10 session had time-under-tension of 75 secs – and the 12, 11, 11 session had TUT of just 68 secs!
    • The 12, 11, 11 session achieved more Work – but the Work intensity was half that of the 3x10 session!

So which is better? If you do not know your TUT, exercise times, intensity – you are training blind!

Requirements:

The Amp Your Workout App operates on a mobile phone and smart-watch. If you do not have a smart-watch, the training bundles include them as options.

* Note that as at February 2016 the LG Android watches are not giving accurate rep counts and rep tempo data.
** We have the watch interfacing but cannot keep it awake so it will not work with the App at this time. Please check later.

Coaching Scope – what you get

All programs, nutrition advice, reviews, assessments, data analysis, and support is provided personally by me. I do not have others providing assistance and “cookie-cut” responses or reviews.

The steps to your new physique are:

Order completion:- monthly billing or once-off payment

Assessment:- Complete a questionnaire, upload photos and details.

Review, plan and agree:- I will align your goals with your current status and the time frame and time you can commit and we agree on a sensible plan

Nutrition and Training plan:- I will devise a plan for you to achieve the goals and activity levels agreed (nutrition, training split)

App set-up:- I will help set up the app ready for you to start training

Induction:- I will run through the key aspects of the plan and the training for you to gain the most benefit – including training techniques and secrets for greater effectiveness

Coaching including weekly reviews and support:- We then start the regular coaching and review sessions. I will check your data and reports fed automatically from the app. This includes:-

  • Weekly Skype call, to answer queries
  • Email support – answered within 24 business hours
  • Access to webinars
  • Newsletter
  • 30-day review of progress (photos, stats, report) and revision of nutrition and nutrition plans as required

Pricing

All plans include the following processes, but vary in the level of detail and degree of service, time spent in calls etc to suit the level of training and goals.

DUO mode means that your costs are reduced because the gym sessions are “shared” with another. I will try to “match” you with someone. Note that you do NOT train together - I will coach you each separately in your own tailored programs designed in the Startup phase. Gym sessions in startup and ongoing modes are set at one per week but more can be added as an option.

One-on-one mode is as it infers - I will personally coach you one-on-one in the gym sessions.

My role in the gym is as a consultative coach on the best training methods and utilisation of the AMP Your Workout App for optimised training and faster results. Gym sessions in startup and ongoing modes are set at one per week but more can be added as an option.

I met Paul through a friend and work colleague who told me about Paul’s background and the app that he had in development. At the time, I was planning my wedding and honeymoon and was keen to get into better physical shape. I have trained over the years but never with a clear objective in mind - mostly general fitness and maintaining some muscular tone. I asked Paul if he could help devise a plan for me to get into shape for the wedding, which was some three months away.

I must say that I was surprised by the level of detail in Paul’s approach and the systematic planning that went into the process. Having successfully built a business over the last 10 years, and in fact, an online MBA program, I practice what I preach and have a high degree of expertise with the processes of project management.

Paul’s approach was thorough in this regard and applied to the processes of physical development and transformation. I was the wide range of knowledge in the latter disciplines that surprised me, including analysis of my current situation, projected targets for the end goal, with milestones along the way, and a training and nutrition plan, together with predictions of what should happen at each phase (so that we had a bench-mark and assessment criteria to evaluate the response to the plan).

Paul had predicted my goal weight for the wedding, taking into account the body-fat level I’d need to be at, the fat I’d need to lose and the muscle I’d likely gain during the training program. This process also involved some “counselling” or “consultation” as a reality check of what would be achievable given the time frame and my available resources of time to train and ability to adopt a meal plan given my hectic work and travel schedule.

I hit the goal weight the week before the wedding and was very happy with my physical condition at that time and still am when I look back at the wedding photos.

I can recommend Paul for anyone aiming to transform their physique and not afraid of some work and discipline. It may not be easy, but I am sure you will be happy with the results.

Since an early age, I have always enjoyed the gym, and was self-taught with “ok” results.

I was never really sure if I was exercising to my full potential. My husband and I started working with Paul back in 2010 and we were blown away with his skill and knowledge.

I had always known why I was at the gym but Paul showed me the what and how. Paul is more than a PT, - he knows what exercises to do, and the techniques but most importantly his extensive knowledge of the human body is mind blowing.

He didn’t just tell me what to do but taught me the ideal diet, how to train for greater effectiveness, and know how my body would react. Paul doesn’t just talk the talk but walks the walk as well. He lives and breathes his words and actions.

Paul is very reassuring whilst constantly holding me accountable to myself. I stuck to Paul’s programme where previously I would have quit. No words to say how much I love working with Paul and how much I respect him both as a trainer but a friend. I love my results!

With Paul’s support and encouragement I realised I could take my fitness to the next level. For me, that was an INBA Physique competition. With a measurable, achievable and realistic diet and exercise programme specific to my body type, Paul had calculated my ideal weight at a target fat percentage and had me on the stage right on target 14 weeks later. Paul also taught me the posing techniques, guided me through the final week preparations, and supported me on the day of the competition. About Paul

Paul is a life-time natural bodybuilder who started out very small and skinny (92Lb) and applied his defence-electronic engineering knowledge to the analysis to the study of his workouts.

This led to the development of the AMMP™ software package from 2007 onwards including trials on himself and his PT clients, and the eventual coding of the program into the AMP Your Workout App.

Paul trained with the prototype software in 2007, 8, and 9 whilst competing internationally with the INBA, winning trophies each year.
